Ss create their own lesson plan according to Pete Sharma & Barney Barrett applying the use of a webquest.
Aim: to practice speaking and listening about new vocabulary related with touristic places (Monterrey). Present a fun activity to students in order to improve their prior knowledge about places, directions and grammatical tenses.
Level: beginners to intermedia
Technology: computer, projector, internet. Smart board
Interaction: teams
Rationale: The importance of his topic is to know the most important places of Monterrey in order to increase our vocabulary and pronunciation.
Before class: Research the appropriate webpages and to be sure about the equipment, also check the internet is correctly working. The webpages have to be alive and working correctly.
Procedure
1-Make teams of 4 or 5 people.
2-Explain what they have to do, they are tourists and they need to look for interesting places in Monterrey to spend wonderful vacation
3-Teacher will give SS the resources where they can get information from.
4-Explain the evaluation of the role play they have to perform at the end of the activity.
Follow up
Ask students to make a model where they represent the place or places that they would like to visit in Monterrey and they explain “why” and mention the things seem interesting for them.
